Cousins and partners-in-crime since birth, our first joint foray into interior design was back in the early 80s, when we sneaked into Granny Theresa's bedroom and 'decorated' her walls with expensive make-up. Since that infamous afternoon (never forgotten by either of our mothers) and despite the obvious talent for decor on display, we both followed the usual humanities degree career paths, ending up in communications, advertising, public relations, and editing roles while travelling, coming home, and juggling small children and careers. A slow dissatisfaction with corporate and government sector life and the eternal struggle of balancing work and family began to set in; the desire to re-discover the joys of working with our hands, and hearts, and our imaginations took over; a conversation about rejuvenating some family heirlooms grew into what is now Burlap & Bright Limited. 

 

We are a family business dedicated to restoring, re-loving and rejuvenating furniture. We aim to save beautiful and timeless pieces of furniture from landfill.
